Garden bays wrap around the community building full of seedlings, edible plants, fruits and vegetables. The bays provide enough room to grow a variety of different fruits and vegetables in plentiful quantities.
The gardens are currently being utilised by the Gunnedah Pre-School, who in 2017 submitted a successful expression of interest to exclusively use and manage the gardens, attending through weekly excursions.
The preschool have reported that by having access to the gardens the students are able to explore scientific topics such as sustainability and life cycles and now have great learning possibilities around using the fruit and vegetables grown to prepare healthy meals.
As well as pottering in around the gardens, students are also able to utilise the private play area while onsite and have often had a visit from our friendly mascots Yippee and Pippee.
We enjoy having the children around and are very happy to see that the gardens are being utilised in a positive way by providing early learning opportunities.
